I remember as we drove into the Gurez Valley we came across the Razdan pass teeming with people. We were so tired of the road trip that we didn’t understand the significance of the place and our bus just drove by. Take a peek at Moments from Razdan Pass with me.

Feeling Patriotic
So on our way home we made it a point to stop at the Razdan pass and it was wonderfully quiet and serene. The Indian flag against the backdrop of the Harmukh mountain looked graceful.

I took some quick pictures of the plaque to read later explaining the history. Everyone took pictures standing tall with the flag billowing in the wind.
A Mini Trek
Then we did a small trek up a hill to the bunker on top and also to the view of the Himalayan range something I missed out on.

The hill was later covered with a shepherd and his sheep which looked idyllic.
Gurez Valley
Gurez valley is the last latitude of India located in the high Himalayas. The Kishanganga river flows through the valley. It was once an important part of the silk route connecting Kashmir to Central Asia.

The Razdan pass is one which evokes a sense of patriotism and being in a place you never imagined to be in. It’s pristine beauty, clean air and the fact that you’re 11667 ft high makes you want to stop and soak it all in.

The serenity of the place and wanting to stay back in the mountains makes this momentary stop to Razdan pass a wondrous experience.

I would highly recommend the Gurez Valley as a once in a lifetime experience of a truly scenic and far away place that you often don’t get to visit. These were my Moments from Razdan Pass.
