Striving

18/08/2026

I didn’t have a blog scheduled this week so I thought to write some random reflections on the year gone by till now.

This year I’ve constantly been in a state of wanting to find a job or resume teaching. I had to struggle with things, past memories and I found a cathartic moment in which I realized it was better to let that chapter go.

I’ve had fun quietly trying to build something but I wouldn’t call it fun. It was full of challenges, hurdles and obstacles and things I didn’t have the intelligence or capacity for.

I found making a dream smaller than what was in your mind and more workable is more enjoyable and thrilling to do.

Love still hasn’t found a way into my life. How can it when I’m mostly at home. It has a pattern that keeps repeating and I’m sad for that.

Finding pleasure at home with a book, some yoga and writing is something I’m getting used to. There is no compulsion to go out and get a job, earn my living. There’s just an acceptance that this is my life now.

There are things to look forward to and for that I’m happy. We must always have a tiny little project tucked in I say to keep us alive.

The focus has also been on my health and I find that nothing is too big it can be manageable. This I say for only what troubles me. I know there are more serious health challenges people face and yet they find ways to cope.

As for today I worked on some blogs, I’m going to do one computer task, get some yoga because I haven’t exercised in awhile, finish reading Mother Mary comes To Me by Arundhati Roy. I’ve only just began reading her books and she is already my favorite author. I find some books come to you when you are ready to read them. That’s mostly my day. I may work on organizing some art. Find a good image for this blog and let it go.

How does your day look like?
