The Threads

iPhotograph this year has been one where I absolutely enjoyed finding fresh scenes in old places and streets, trying to uncover something new in the neighbourhood, those sunsets were definitely chased, clouds filling up the blog and I also brought back balloons from photographs once taken. I picked The Threads to end my year because it was a photograph of my cherished canvas, The Starry Night Over the Rhône.

Perseverance

I think it signifies the year I’ve been through in one single photo. I’ve worked on things but the canvas was deep within all the daily to dos of my life. It was also the year I worked hard to complete it having carried it with me through good and bad times for three years. In September I felt I couldn’t get through the last of the patch I needed to do but I persevered.

Patience

The canvas is symbolic in the sense it showed me to have patience and acceptance in all that has been happening in my life or sometimes even things that aren’t working or happening at all. Even though sometimes straining the canvas never once brought out irritability in me it showed me more calm and patience, each time I put the thread and needle away, it instilled in me the willingness to pick it up again.

The Choices we make

Isn’t that what life is all about? Often we are dealt with unpredictable times where you lose faith in yourself but you learn to pick up the threads of your life and stitch into its fabric yet another meaning, yet another purpose, yet another path to walk on. For some your choices could be strange but if they resonate with your dreams and wishes soldier on.

Often the stitches maybe uneven and your road a little rocky and hazy but if you find love in your heart at the end you are walking in the right direction.

To see the canvas come to life was my dream but while stitching I only thought of how much work I would be able to cover that day, which shade I’d pick to start with. Your steps may feel small and insignificant but they’re always adding up to that final illuminated picture.

Even if your life doesn’t light up for a perfect moment look back at The Threads of your life and you’ll see the colors woven midnight and royal blues, light greens, warm goldens and even the darkest blacks. Your life a masterpiece, a Starry Night!

Hope you have woven into December warmth, serenity, people, peace and everlasting love!
