Dark days and holding on.
Lovely Readers,
Hello! I hope you are well.
Faith Logs is my little end-of-the-month wrap-up of moments that have held significance for me. I usually write it at a point where it truly matters the defining moment, a day well spent, a kindness received.
This month I found myself writing it on the 18th. You might say there was still so much more of the month left to live, but somehow this felt like the right moment to pause and be thankful for the days that had already passed.
This month has been an upsetting one. I needed to check in with my health, and I carried the unsettling feeling that I was drifting a little, becoming lost. Nothing seemed to motivate me or move me forward.
Then, one early morning, I woke up with a strong desire to return to an old project that has always been dear to me a project I had abandoned time and again because it simply wouldn’t work.
Well, on that Thursday, perhaps with a little pixie dust in the air and a lot of patient work, things slowly began to fall into place.
There is still plenty left to do, but what stood out to me most was this: we often give up on the days that feel the heaviest. We look for a way out before we’ve given life enough time to change. Waiting does change things. Sometimes the light is already there; it is simply too faint for our hearts to see.
I’m happy to have something to look forward to again. For now, it’s just a project, but building it has given me tiny, sparkly reasons to live.
Have you ever had a day when everything felt lost, only to wake up the next morning and find that something had shifted? Not necessarily that everything was perfect, but that life somehow felt lighter or simply… different.
My Faith Logs this month comes with a gentle reminder: hold on, especially when your energy feels at its weakest. Give yourself time. Let life unfold when it is ready.
No, I can’t promise that tomorrow or next month will be better. I don’t know whether I’ll still feel gloomy or sad.
What I do know is this: I can never give up on myself simply because, for a while, the sun has stopped shining on me.
Sending you a little sunshine from where I sit.
It hasn’t rained yet. Well now it has.
P.S. I’ve been far too lazy to catch up on all the wonderful blogs I’ve missed. I promise I’ll spend a quiet Sunday reading them.
Keep the Faith Always!
