Goa that holiday destination which sounds sweet to almost everyone. I’ve had so many trips to Goa that along the way I lost count. Here are some memories that I will reminiscence about along with a few beach pictures which are almost somehow all I have of Goa in iPhotograph- Beach Adventures.
The Very First Unforgettable Trip
My very first trip to Goa was with a group of college friends. It was also my first trip without family. I had to take care of myself. It was a roller coaster ride it had surprises, fights because we were so young, road trips to distant beaches, crushes had and broken and dreams fulfilled. It was every bit the holiday a graduate would want to have before embarking on a world full of work and responsibility. We really let loose on that trip and it was filled with a carefree spirit and lots of laughs. I’m afraid I’ve lost those pictures from way back when somehow. I could still try and dig them up. My most memorable trip to Goa.

Sibling Bootcamp
Goa came to be an escape for us siblings when work or life in general became hard to bear. Although this one trip my sister turned into a boot camp where we go running in the pouring rain and make an attempt to see if I could learn how to swim which I still can’t. I didn’t appreciate the boot camp feels but the rain made the beach look ever so dramatic with waves crashing and a spray of ocean water lending a misty look in the distance as you walked towards it.

Goa at my Worst
That security van you see in both the pictures means something to me. This one trip to Goa I wasn’t mentally all there and I just happened to walk away from where my parents were and just walked on and sat down to rest in one of the shacks. My parents were livid they didn’t know where I was and I don’t remember much after but I was ferried back to the hotel in the van. It was only a short distance but I remember that ride. So once a long time after, on another trip around twilight I took this picture as a reminder of not so sane days and a ride in the van which I had always wanted.

The Chalston
These pictures are from where we stayed every time in Goa and the beach is somehow the only thing you need when you’re there. In the evening the locals come for a game of football and it’s so enjoyable to sit and watch them against the backdrop of the beautiful sea. We’ve sat out here with our umbrellas late into the night, the monsoons are magical there. Take a minute to read iPhotograph – Just Another Day in Paradise for more on that third picture.
Goa is a magical place and it’s the kind of place where you feel you’ve had the perfect holiday, the perfect retreat. It was nice putting iPhotograph- Beach Adventures together just to pull out memories of a place that’s special.
Goa where you find a different side of you each time you’re there and you learn to cherish and embrace it.
