Let’s go to the Park!

We all have memories of running down a park, sitting on swings and admiring flowers along the way. Long ago in our area we didn’t have a suitable park to go. We would sometimes walk a stretch that was no man’s land. Then they decided to turn that very area into a beautiful park called Jogger’s Park. My iPhotograph- Let’s go to the Park!

Frangipani and a Clock

Jogger’s Park

The park was beautiful frangipani adorned the entrance. A huge clock overlooked the park and as you stepped further inside passing the mud tracks the sea would beckon. It was an absolutely beautiful location for a park.

Childhood Memories

Jogger’s Park

A quaint bridge at the centre with a pond and a cascading waterfall with ducks waddling in it made it the most picturesque scene.

As children the park it thrilled us. It had these little slopes that we couldn’t get enough of running down and back up. We could sit in the grass listen to our parents chat about the day and playing a game of find the pebble in the grass. Simple joys.

Solace

Jogger’s Park

As I grew older the park became the place where I could destress after a long working day, get my exercise and wait for the most dazzling sunsets. The sunsets became my peace of mind at the end of the day where I learnt to let go of any energies that I had gathered good or bad during the day.

Twilights were lovely where the park would be lit with very dim lighting and it made everything seem better.

We would sometimes even weather a storm to get to the park. The park was lush in the rains and it was sweeter than any other weather.

What does a park mean to you? For me it meant my growing up days, playing and being free and finding solace when I had no place to go.

Seasons

Let’s go to the Park!

I’ve attached different meanings to the park at various ages and seasons of my life. These are older pictures, memories of the park. I don’t visit the park very often now after a recent renovation it lost a certain charm for me.

I did go catch a sunset once through a new railing they had installed. I noticed that things had changed and so had life changed for me.

The park I’ve cried here, played, made friends, got wet in the rain, kissed, spent my teen years hanging out with friends, talked, discussed, caught a sunrise, been at a low, captured a beautiful sunset, had unexpected chance encounters that would mean deeper things later in life and sat under the moonlight. It is a place integral to who I am and will always be.

I hope you enjoyed iPhotograph- Let’s go to the Park! Shall we?

June could be anything it wants plain and dull, upbeat and shiny, slow and sweet! It’s really up to you to decide which track it plays…. May any rhythm fall ever so beautiful!
