On Knowing Loneliness

I have known loneliness from a very young age. I remember sitting by myself and wondering if it would always feel this way. And then, somewhere between the moon above and the music in my headphones, I realised that I wasn’t really alone that my own company could be cherished just as much as any other.

Since then, I have embraced loneliness, often finding small spaces that allow it to exist gently. Listening to a song, painting, writing, or simply sitting with the sounds around me.

Loneliness A One-Act Play grew from this feeling something close to me, and close to who I am.

It is a quiet play, one that moves like a soft wave at times light, at times heavy, but always reflective.

Perhaps there is a message within it. Only this that loneliness can, at times, become a companion to you.

If you would like to read it, you can find the play at Pari’s Books!
