A Ballet of Thoughts

Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.

– Marc Riboud

There are some photographs where everything seems to have synchronized. The two ladies crossing the street, her blue suit against the bluish grey backdrop. The sea peeking behind the palms with the glow of the street lamp and a white car heading out. It is for me a memorable photograph. Almost like a rainy day postcard. A ballet of thoughts.

Thoughts as I try to write this

Life comes in waves of good and bad, happy and sad. You can’t choose the wave it chooses you. You need to learn how to ride it and be ready for the next.

There are periods of isolation when the comfort of the home becomes your happy place and people and places diminish in value. Sometimes it’s solitude and sometimes it’s loneliness. Both can be hard to bear but hold a charm in them.

Time doesn’t bring you closer to the people you love. If they left they are most likely to never come back. Your heart must learn to move on or hold them close till you can. Letting go is inevitable.

If nothing seems to be happening it doesn’t mean things aren’t moving, links aren’t being formed. You may propel further but slowly like a slow and enigmatic ballet. A ballet of your life.

Mindfulness is important like letting the rain fall on your face it helps bring a peace within and maintain a steady calm. It’s hard to achieve but small steps are what get you there.

Find things that are simple but bring you joy. They can replace feelings of being lonely, heartbroken, or a feeling of not being wanted. What’s that simple joy for you?

This photograph holds the intensity of my thoughts on a rain swept day, the exhilaration and freshness of raindrops, the happiness of the sound of falling rain and the memories you ponder while taking in the blues, the grays and the luscious greens.
